Linda Jean Sturgeon, age 69 of Hardinsburg, KY died Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Transcendant Health Care in Booneville, IN. She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on February 24, 1948, the daughter of the late James Jefferson and Ida Florence Shartzer Dowell. She was a member of Community Praise and Worship and was involved with many church activities. She was a homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, reading, crocheting  and birdwatching. She was a wonderful Mom and Granny and loved caring for her grandchildren.

She and her late husband were the former owners of The Malt Shop in Hardinsburg, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Allen Sturgeon, nephew Jamie Dowell and niece Sarah Dowell.
Linda is survived by 2 children: Jeff Sturgeon (Lisa Vaughn) of Hardinsburg, KY
Amanda Cook (Steve Poole) of Hardinsburg, KY
7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren
1 sister: Janice Dowell Bevill (Mason) of Hawesville, KY
1 brother: Ronnie Dowell (Rebecca) of Hardinsburg, KY
2 nieces and 5 nephews

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11 AM with burial in the New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 4-8 PM and Thursday after 8:30 AM.
