Gloria Dean Scherer, age 84 of Lewisport, KY died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Heartland Villa. She was born in Louisville, KY on January 11, 1933, the daughter of the late Clarence and Verna Meredith Troxle.  Gloria was a retired registered nurse and past president of the Playa del Ray Women's Club and Democratic Women's Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Ronald Scherer, MD and her sister Sylvia Armes.

Gloria is survived by 3 children: Joyce Trippe and David Scherer of California and Mitch Scherer of Louisville, KY
5 grandchildren: Simon, Sofia, Dana, Carly and Katie
2 brothers - Clarence Troxle and Pete Troxle
4 sisters - Cheryl Whitworth, Sandy Gedling, Beverly Smith and Judy Hendrix

In keeping with the wishes of Gloria, the family has chosen cremation with no services.
