Zona Gail (Butler) Gallo

Zona Gail Butler Gallo, age 80 of Humble, TX passed away June 16, 2020. Although Zona spent her adulthood in Florida and Texas, she cherished her summer visits to her Kentucky birthplace for the Butler family reunions.

Zona was a naturally talented customer service professional and took pride in her long career in the travel industry. But she always said her most important role in life was as a mother. She supported her girls in everything they did while providing gentle guidance and was quick to point out the silver linings in all of life's challenges.

Her lifelong hunger for learning led her to earn her BA from Purdue University in 1997, followed by an MS in Education in 2003. During this time, she worked as a behavioral health advisor at St. Margaret's Hospital where her compassion, creativity and years of G. S. Leader experience enabled her to skillfully help many struggling kids and adolescents.

Zona was thrilled to become a Mamaw five times; her grandchildren exemplify the kindness and generosity she demonstrated throughout her life. 

Predeceased by her parents Tom and Mildred and her younger brother Ken, Zona will rest in peace with them at Harned Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life with family and friends from 9 - 11 AM CDT on Friday, June 17, 2022 followed by a graveside service at 11:30 AM CDT.

Zona is survived by her loving daughters Sabra and Vanessa; five wonderful grandchildren and other beloved family members and dear friends in Kentucky, Indiana and Texas.
