William A. "Bill" Hinton, Sr.

William A. "Bill" Hinton, Sr. age 76 of Kirk, KY passed away April 27, 2021 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Kirk, KY on September 15, 1944, the son of the late Milton "Cap" and Catherine Bland Hinton. He retired from Reynolds Metals after 32 years. Bill had many interests that include hunting, fishing, drag racing and playing horseshoes. He was the Kirk Rook King and the instigator of many pranks played on his family and friends. Family time was very important to Bill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Pete, Bud and Joe Hinton, Bernice Taul, Louise Roach, Sue Kiefer and two infant siblings.

Bill is survived by Sally, his wife of almost 58 years.

3 children: Bill (Amy) Hinton, Jr. and Wanda (Dale) Poulter of Louisville, KY,  Roxanna (Kent) Hansford of Kirk, KY

8 grandchildren: Bradley (Tiffany) Short, Britanie (Jordan) Hunter, Katherine Short, Brandie Thompson, Dakota Hinton, Emily Hinton, Tamara (John) Iacono and Justin (Christina) Hansford

16 great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in McQuady, KY on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11 AM with Fr. Tony Jones and Fr. Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 3:30 - 8 PM and Saturday, 8:30 - 10:30 AM. A prayer service will be held on Friday at 7:30 PM. All times are central.
