William Lee Dean

William Lee "Willie" Dean, age 75 of Clarksville, IN passed away October 24, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on May 2, 1946. Willie is a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army, a barber and a former chef at Horseshoe Casino. He was a member of the 1964 BCHS Bearcat basketball team who was State Runner-up. He was known as "Whistlin Willie". He was a fan of the Louisville Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father Sherman Dean, mother Peral Elizabeth Dean, stepmother Virginia Dean, grandparents Owen and Mandy Duncan who raised him, sisters Shirley Lee and Darlene Dean, Johnnie Mae Poole and brother Bobby Joe Dean.

Willie is survived by 3 children: Terrance Woods of Radcliff, KY; Tiffany Talbott of Owensboro, KY and Angel Johnson of Hardinsburg, KY 

12 grandchildren: Aleeigha and Jayceon Finley; Kamouria and Zakaree Johnson; Amanda and Shawn Crowe; Kaidyn, Kashtyn, Kingston, Kaylani, Kambryn and Amillian Woods

3 brothers: Sherman "Sonny" (Kathy) Dean of Irvington, KY; Marvin and Louis Dean of Owensboro, KY

6 sisters: Norma Jean Robinson of Louisville, KY; Mary Johnson of Hardinsburg, KY; Hattie Owens of Radcliff, KY; Delphine (Jim) Farrell of Elizabethtown, KY; Debbie (John) Doyle of Hawesville, KY and Dalsie Dean of Louisville, KY

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial with military honors will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central on November 24, 2021 at 11:30 AM.
