Wayne Norton

Donald Wayne Norton, age 83 of Harned, KY passed away December 30, 2021 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Harned, KY on May 10, 1938, the son of the late Elbert Lee and Lena River Snyder Norton. Wayne was a member of Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a board member for Southern States, a board member and stockholder for Breck. Co. Livestock Center and an avid NRA member. Wayne loved his family and took pleasure in teasing his grandchildren. He always loved their visits. He enjoyed fishing, working on the farm, 4 wheeling, mushroom hunting, woodworking and reading - especially westerns. He was an avid UK basketball fan. He didn't travel too far from home, but did enjoy a trip out west. Wayne was a good, kind man who always had a smile on his face.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Kalyn Mikal Whitworth, sister Louise Norton and brothers Bernard, William "Dub" and Ralph "Shorty" Norton.

Wayne is survived by Linda, his wife of 62 years.

7 grandchildren - Jennifer (Mason) Whitfill-Pruitt of Pekin, IN; Sara (Derick) Wicker and Derek (Chasiti) Whitworth of Custer, KY; Ashley (John) Alexander of Kingswood, KY; Miranda (Austin) Flood  of Owensboro, KY; Kollin (Taylor) Bland of Hardinsburg, KY and Matt Bland of McQuady, KY

10 great-grandchildren - Gavin Carman, Luna River Pruitt, Tristan and Kayleigh Wicker, Caine Whitworth, Peyton Meredith, Michael and Jax Alexander, Cameron and Milo  Patton

Funeral services will be held at Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 2 PM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, 9:30 - 12 PM and the church from 12:45 - 2 PM.
