Shirley Noretta Mattingly

Shirley Noretta Mattingly, age 80 of Harned, KY died Thursday, September 17, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Breckinridge County on May 18, 1940, the son of the late Peyton and Jettie Carman Compton. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, flowers, family time and attending church services.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Mattingly, son Christopher Phillips, sisters: Catherine Harper, Ressie Lemone and Ray Wanda Compton, brothers: James, Hollis, Johnny and Carol Compton.

Shirley is survived by 4 children: Neil Mattingly of Hardinsburg, KY, Kathy Brown of Harned, KY, Tammy Lucas (Bobby) of Irvington, KY and Jennifer Mattingly of Mississippi

10 grandchildren: Bradley Mattingly, Melissa Nottingham, Kasey Brown, Matthew Nottingham, Cassie Brown, Joetta Dowell, Joe Phillips, Faith Lucas, Robert Lucas and Christian Creson

26 great grandchildren

1 brother: Harold Compton (Lily) of Georgia

1 sister: Betty Dozier (James) of Mississippi

Funeral services will be held at Restorations Church in Hardinsburg, KY on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11 AM under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 3-6 pm.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Shirley Mattingly Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home to assist with expenses.
