Saundra June Decker

Saundra June Decker, age 78 of Brownsville, KY and formerly of Hardinsburg, KY died Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Edmonson Health Care. She was born in Fordsville, KY on June 21, 1941, the daughter of the late Charlie and Adeline Byers Shain. Saundra was a retired waitress, a job that she very much enjoyed. She was a member of the Methodist faith, the Moose Lodge and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Saundra enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was an avid collector of "what nots".

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Albert Decker and siblings Granville Stephan "Brother Boy", Charlie Ray and Frank David Shain and Ruby Lois Decker.

Saundra is survived by 4 daughters: Melinda Smith of Louisville, KY, Patricia Mercer (David) of New Albany, IN, Leslie Stonebraker (Rich) of Chalmers, IN and Kimberly Decker (Rosa Maynard) of Jeffersonville, IN

8 loving grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 expected later this year, 1 great great grandchild expected later this year.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 12 PM central time with Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Stephensport, KY. Visitation will begin at 10 AM central time and end at 12 PM central time on Thursday. The number of those attending the visitation and funeral service shall be within the current health and safety directives. Please do not bring food or drink to the funeral home as they are not allowed at this time. For those unable to attend, an online guest register is available at trentdowell.com.
