Obituary

Robert Joseph Jackey, age 82 of Hudson, KY died Monday, November 16, 2020 at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Louisville, KY on January 5, 1938, the son of the late Joseph Frank and Magdalene Augusta Wissel Jackey. Robert was a retired Civil Engineer.  He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Robert held many offices with the organization, not only on a local level but state as well. He was a former member of the Neumann Council and a current member of the Bouchee Assembly. Through the years, he has volunteered at the Harbor House, Holy Name Society, St. Vincent dePaul, Knights of Columbus food drives which were coordinated with the Boy Scouts, Right to Life, where he was chairman for three years, and a cook for the council's many meals. Robert had a huge heart and was always looking to help others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Edward Jackey.

He is survived by his wife Virginia of Hudson, KY

5 children: Robert Joseph Jackey, II (Susan) of Pleasureville, KY, Christopher Charles Jackey (Linda) of South Carolina, Michael Dominic Jackey (Jennifer) of Brandenburg, KY, Lee Ann Christenson (Bill) of Madisonville, KY and Catherine Augusta Jackey of Peoria, AZ.

17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren

2 brothers: Donald Lee Jackey (Patricia) of Louisville, KY and Gerald Thomas Jackey (Mary) of Hudson, KY

1 sister: Mary Rose Sott of Revenna, OH

Funeral services will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Clarkson, KY on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 10 AM central time. Burial will be in the St. Andrews Cemetery in Louisville, KY at approximately 12 PM central time. Visitation will begin at 9 AM on Saturday at the church.
