Robert Eugene "Bob" Dowell

Robert Eugene "Bob" Dowell, age 67 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away August 4, 2022 at Baptist Health Louisville. He was born November 8, 1954 in Hardinsburg, KY, son of the late William Lee and Minnie Ileene Morgan Dowell.

Bob retired after 42 years from the Southwire KY Plant in Hawesville, KY. Not only was Bob a hard worker, but he was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and play golf. He took great pride in raising champion beagles for rabbit hunting and competitions. Bob was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was always ready to help anyone.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Jack Wayne Dowell and William Edward Dowell and his sister Betty Gene Dowell.

Bob is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years Glenda Payne Dowell; his son Mike Dowell of Bowling Green, KY and daughter Christy Dowell Green of Sarasota, FL; 4 grandchildren Paige Dowell (William) Stallings, Emma Gayle Dowell, Presleigh and Landon Green; two great granddaughters Harper and Layla Rowe. Bob was very proud of and loved his family so much.

Bob is also survived by his brother Jim (Jodi) Dowell of Hawesville, KY; and three sisters Norma Lee Morgan of McQuady, KY; Faye Dowell of Irvington, KY and Tammy (Spanky) Haynes of Webster, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Hardinsburg, KY at 1 PM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, 4:30 - 8 PM and Sunday, 10 AM - 12:30 PM. A prayer service will be held on Saturday at 7:30 PM.
