Randall Lee Greenwell

Randall Lee Greenwell, age 70 of Union Star, KY passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on December 4, 1952, son of the late Fredrick Earl and Esther Pauline McMain Greenwell. As a child, Randall attended Crossroads Elementary School and attended St. Theresa Catholic Church. He graduated from St. Romuald High School Class of 1971. After graduation, he became employed with a barge line and worked on the White Knight towboat. After a few years, he worked with LG & E for 18 years, then on to Certified Paving and next to the Kentucky Department of Transportation where he retired in 2017. As is obvious, he enjoyed outdoor work and during all of his employment, he also kept the family farm up and going.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting and was an avid reader. He was quite the jokester and loved gatherings with his family. He and his wife attended Raymond Baptist Church and Randall was a member of Custer Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Delores Greenwell.

Randall is survived by Jean, his wife of 48 years.

4 children: Jeanette Galloway (Chris) of Harned, KY; Shelley Fentress (Chad); Alicia Henning (James) and Randy Greenwell (Tara) of Hardinsburg, KY

13 grandchildren: Jayme and Cadence Galloway; Trenton Brown, Chelsea, Kenleigh and Kailyn Greenwell; Henry Earl and Gracelynn Jean Fentress; Alexis, Chloe, Maggie, Kamryn and Landon Henning.

A Masonic service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2023 with funeral services to follow. Burial will be in the St. Theresa Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 10 AM - 2 PM. All times are central.
