Paul Wayne Severs

Paul Wayne Severs, age 75 of Harned, KY died Monday, October 12, 2020 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. He was born in Louisville, KY on February 11, 1945, the son of the late George Hurley and Thelma Nelson Severs. Paul was raised in Union Star, KY, a community he loved. He loved spending time with his wife, son, daughter and grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Paul was a poet, he loved to read and write essays. He was a storyteller and his quick wit and humor made those stories unforgettable. He enjoyed having his hands in the dirt - raising vegetables and caring for flowers. He was always bush hogging, moving dirt and collecting rocks. Paul loved to go antiquing with his loving wife of thirty one years.

He was a recently retired merchant mariner with ten years on the Mississippi and the last thirty in the Atlantic Northeast for a New York Company.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son Paul Wayne Severs, brother David Severs and nephew Billy Severs.

Son - Erich Severs of Harned, KY

Daughter - Nikki Peterson (Abby) of Union Star, KY

6 grandchildren - Chance, Chloe, Cort, Caine, Marlow and Charlie

Brothers - George Severs, Jr., Larry Severs (Martha) and Kevin Severs of Union Star, KY, Bill Severs (Bonnie) of Harned, KY, Dale Severs (Karen) of Hawesville, KY

Sisters: Janice Curry (Mike) of Louisville, KY, Judy Schnitterbaum (Joe) of Mt. Washington, KY, Robin Frank (Dale) of Union Star, KY and Becky Shelman (Chuck) of Garrett, KY

Many nieces and nephews

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 2 PM central time at 14485 Highway 144 Union Star, KY which is Paul's homeplace.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Autism Association.
