On June 19, 2021, Nolon B. Dant, III "Jack" passed away peacefully at the age of 77. Jack was married to his wife Mary for 56 years and was the father of three children, grandfather of four and great grandfather of one. He was also a brother, an uncle and a beloved friend to many.
Jack was an electrician by trade, but his true passions were farming, gardening, fishing and making rosaries. He loved to share the fruits of his labor by showing people his gardens and tasting berries, corn and watermelons hot from the sun, just to see how good they were. His skin was tan year round from being outside in his gardens and yard, and he loved fishing with his son and brother. He had a passion for making things like fishing lures and rosaries which he gave freely to everyone around him. Jack loved to laugh and was a real jokester. His children grew up with secret handshakes and insider jokes and his family meant everything to him. He was a hard worker and could do anything from fixing machines, to farming, woodworking and even sew a lining in a prom dress if needed. Jack instilled a strong work ethic and a love of life in all three of his children and he will be greatly missed.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Nolon B. and Roberta Dant and his brother Bob Dant. He is survived by his loving wife Mary, their children Michelle (Muggs) McGinnis, James (Candice) Dant and Dawn (Neal) Bland and his beloved brother Jim (Reba) Dant and their son John Nolon. He had a great love for his grandchildren Nolon (Chandler) Dant, Patrick (Morgan) Dant, Connor and Luke Bland, as well as his great granddaughter Lennon Dant. He also loved his brothers and sisters by marriage: Joy (Marshall, deceased) Hall and their children Donna Carol, Tricia, Roxanna, Loretta and Julia; Donna (Bobby Joe, deceased) Hinton and their children Michael, Christi, Robbie deceased and Jared; Bonnie (Celestine) Hinton and their children Leanna, Shane, Vachel, Ben and Adam; David Louis (Theresa) Brown and their children Marshall David, Mark and Misty; Doug (Rachel) Brown and their children Charlotte, Stephanie, JD and Judy; George (Helen) Brown and their children Jason, Daniel, Devon and Joseph.
