Nettie Grace Fowler Carmack, age 89 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away November 16, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Brandenburg, KY on May 31, 1932, the daughter of the late Steward Lee and Grace Effie Milby Fowler. Nettie was a Kentucky Colonel and member of Brandenburg Church of the Nazarene where she served as Sunday School teacher, missionary president and used her artistic talents as preparer of the bulletin board for over 30 years. She sponsored 7 children to attend school in the Holy Land. Nettie was a very talented seamstress who provided dresses made with love for 5 weddings. She was a wonderful cook and could bake the best coconut cream pies. Using her skills, she raised over $20,000 baking cakes for the Senior Companion Program which is very dear to her heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: James (Mary Elizabeth Thorp) Fowler, Rose (Martin) Hurlstone, Robert (Corene Lasley) Fowler, Joe Fowler, Sue Phillips and her husbands Gary Lloyd and Wesley Phillips, Charles (Nina Dennison) Fowler.
Nettie is survived by 2 daughters: Jan Carmack (Thomas) Mortensen of Ft. Mill, SC and Sharon (Joe) Morgan of Cloverport, KY
4 grandchildren: William A. Irwin of Cloverport, KY; Jodi G. Morgan of Brandenburg, KY; Garett Mortensen of Miami, FL and Kara (Jared) Oksanen of Chicago, IL
1 great granddaughter: Mars Oksanen
1 brother: David (Carolyn Story) Fowler of Woodburn, Oregon

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 1 PM with burial in Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg, KY. Visitation will begin at 10 AM on Friday. All times are central.
Expression of sympathy are suggested to Senior Companion Program.
