Minnie Nimmo Obituary

Minnie Ann Oelze Nimmo, age 82 went into the arms of our Lord on December 13, 2021 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born on March 19, 1939, the daughter of the late Cletus and Regina Wethington Oelze.

Always a hard worker, Minnie was most happy when giving of herself while serving God and others. She was dedicated to family and friends who lived in nursing homes, visiting them daily and setting up for weekly Mass at Medco. She also offered transportation to those unable to get to Mass. She spent her later years making scapulars and rosaries that were sent to missions world wide. She also loved her garden and enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She provided a listening ear for anyone and everyone.

Minnie was a lifelong member of St. Romuald Parish in Hardinsburg, KY where she married Joe Nimmo on July 9, 1959. She was one of the founding members of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration when it started at St. Romuald. She could usually be found in church making a daily visit to Jesus, attending Mass or leading the rosary for her Blue Army Group. She had a special devotion to our Blessed Mother and prayed many rosaries or chaplets of Divine Mercy.

Along with her parents, Cletus and Regina Oelze, Minnie was preceded in death by Joe Nimmo, her husband who died in 2017; her daughter Karen Nimmo who died in 1976;  her brother Sherman Oelze and her sisters Shirley Oelze, Peggy Hazelwood and Dorothy Huffines; as well as a special brother-in-law whom she provided care for many years Lloyd "Buster" Tucker.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Gina (Britt) Gray of Owensboro, KY; Gary (Terry) Nimmo of Falls of Rough, KY and Cletus (Teresa) Nimmo of Hardinsburg, KY.

Grandchildren: A J, Alex (Magen) and Britt Michael Gray; Cody Nimmo, JR (Becca) Nimmo, Ann Marie (Matthew) Carman and Jesse Nimmo; Kacey Nimmo; Delbert (Andi) Moore, Josh (Angie) Moore, Crystal (Bryan) Mahoney and Paul (Maggie) Burns
