Michael and Jennifer Masterson Obituary

Michael (Mike) Gregory Masterson, age 47,  unexpectedly passed away September 20, 2021 in Springfield, KY. He is survived by his son Colton Masterson and his daughter Mikah Masterson; his mother Benita Bennett (Danny) Rush; sister Michelle (Brad) Beswick; brothers Timothy Masterson and Jonathan (Ashlynn) Masterson; 2 nieces, 2 nephews, 1 great niece and a wealth of aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his father Greg Masterson.

Jennifer 'Jenn' Marie Young Masterson, age 44 of Hardinsburg, KY unexpectedly passed away September 20, 2021 in Springfield, KY. She is survived by her son Colton Masterson and her daughter Mikah Masterson; her mother Margaret Wiles; her sisters Donna (Gary) Hanks, Karen (Allen) Rearden and Carla (Scott) Haycraft; 3 nieces, 7 nephews, 8 great nieces, 1 great nephew and an abundance of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father James Young and her stepfather Mike Wiles.

Mike was born August 26, 1974 in Hardinsburg, KY. He graduated from Frederick Fraize High School. He was a long time employee of Veolia Water as a project manager and was a Board Member and President of the Breckinridge County Babe Ruth League for over 10 years. Mike was a hard worker and always made sure he provided for his family. He enjoyed relaxing at home, riding his Harley and spending time with his family.

Jennifer was born August 30, 1977 in Tell City, IN. She also graduated from Frederick Fraize High School. She worked for The Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center as a phlebotomist. Jenn enjoyed a good cup of coffee outside in the mornings, spending time with her family and always put others needs before her own.

Mike and Jennifer were high school sweethearts, married on June 18, 1997 and eventually settled down in Hardinsburg. They recently celebrated 24 wonderful years of marriage. They were inseparable for all those years even though Jenn enjoyed the simple things in life and Mike loved the finer things. They were both members of St. Romuald Catholic Church, avid UK fans, enjoyed riding with friends and had a deep love for their families and community. Most of all, Mike and Jenn loved being parents and spending every precious moment they could with their children Colton and Mikah because their children were their hearts and souls. Both Mike and Jenn were taken too soon and will be deeply missed by their friends, family and all who knew them.

Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1 PM with Fr. Tony Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, 3-8 PM and Saturday after 8:30 AM.
