Mae Spradlin Obituary

Mae Fern Spradlin, age 90, of Constantine, KY, died on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Breckinridge Memorial Nursing Facility. She was born in Hardin County, KY on July 6, 1931 to the late Hilary McGuffin and Florence Dutsche McGuffin. Mae Fern was a member of Constantine United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, crocheting, drawing and painting. She was a gardener and enjoyed her flowers. In the Hardinsburg community, Mae Fern was best known as the "peanut brittle lady" and the "strawberry lady". She even grew her own peanuts for making her famous peanut brittle. 

She was preceded in death by her husband: Bernie Spradlin; brothers: Raymond McGuffin and Edward McGuffin; sister: Oleta Hoskinson

Mae Fern is survived by her daughter, Rita Ray and husband Kem of Big Clifty, KY

Sisters: Katherine Hager of Constantine and Beulah Johnson of Louisville, KY

Special Friend: Ronald West

Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 3-7 PM CST 

Funeral services Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 12 PM CST at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home

Burial will be in Constantine Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Constantine Cemetery
