Lorene Powell Freeman

Lorene Powell Freeman, age 74 of Garfield, KY died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Norton Hospital. She was born in Custer, KY on March 2, 1947, the daughter of the late Jesse and Vina Dowell Powell. Lorene was a Baptist who spent many hours reading her bible. She loved children and was a caregiver to many. Other than children, she had two other loves - animals, especially her dog Snowball and George Jones. She was quite the talker, so if you called her, you should plan to spend several hours on the telephone with her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Vechel Powell and sister Helen Dupin.

Lorene is survived by nieces and nephews: Shirley Tucker of Garfield, KY, Crystal Surrell of Westview, KY, Doris Stevens of Hardinsburg, KY, Barbara Saint of California, KY, Everett Dupin of Irvington, KY and Gary Dupin of Hardinsburg, KY

9 great nieces and 5 great nephews

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11 AM with burial in the Bethel Cemetery in Bewleyville, KY. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 5:30 - 8 PM. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Lorene Freeman Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
