Linda Carol Mattingly, 78 of Philpot, kY passed from complication of Parkinson's on Saturday, March 14, 2020 while in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Linda was born June 27, 1941 in McQuady, KY to the late Charles Celestine and Martha Mildred Miller Mattingly. Linda was a registered nurse who graduated in 1962 from St. Joseph Infirmary School of Nursing in Louisville, KY. She was previously employed by Daviess County Hospital and retired from Community Health Services, Inc. Linda was of the Catholic faith, an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing quilts, crafts and baking. She centered her life around her family.
Linda is survived by her husband David Mattingly.

seven grandchildren: Kristen Bumm (Ryan), Morgan McCubbins, Brittany Mattingly, Brandon Mattingly (Chelsea), Allyson Mattingly, Chelsie Payne and Nicolas Payne

five sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Charles Celestine Mattingly, Jr. and Gerald Mattingly
Due to COVID-19 and changes in regulations with the Diocese of Owensboro, a Funeral Mass will not be held for Linda at this time. A graveside service will be held at St. Rose Cemetery near 14093 Highway 992 in Cloverport, KY on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11 AM with Fr. Tony Stevenson officiating. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, KY on Tuesday, 4-8 PM and Wednesday, 8 - 10:30 AM. A prayer service will be held at 7 PM on Tuesday.
