Lester C. Laslie, age 76 of Garfield, KY passed away September 10, 2021 at Norton Hospital. He was born in Louisville, KY on January 5, 1945, one of three children born to the late Sherman and Betty Laslie. He attended Corinth Baptist Church and retired from General Electric. Lester was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam era. He was a collector of watches, knives and old cars. He wore many hats - provider, problem solver, mechanic and homebody - but the most important was that of a husband, father and grandfather. His face would immediately light up by seeing or hearing from his children and their families and they made him feel like the richest man on earth. He was very independent and wanted to do things on his own, however, he would be the first to offer assistance to others. Lester was a creature of habit - Levi jeans, cap, western shirt with a pen in the pocket, Redwing boots and no credit or debit cards in his pocket. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing and squirrel hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Lester Laslie, Jr. and his sister Verbal Alice Laslie.
Lester is survived by Joan, his wife of over 56 years.
