James Hilbert Smith

James Hilbert Smith, age 82 of Louisville, KY passed away June 7, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Breckinridge County, KY on January 27, 1939, the son of the late James Russell and Margaret Lee Rose Smith. James retired after almost 32 years in the maintenance department of a meat packing company. He enjoyed all things outdoors, especially hunting. He was a lawn mower mechanic and avid U K fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great granddaughter Emilia Fenton and sisters Lucille Hensley and Darlene Bray.

James is survived by his wife Judy Smith of Louisville, KY

2 sons - James Earl (Tana) Smith of Shepherdsville, KY and Christopher Alan (Lisa) Smith of Hodgenville, KY

1 daughter - Denise Hatcher of Louisville, KY

15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren

3 brothers - Tommy Smith and Ronnie Smith of Rough River, KY and Darrell (Karen) Smith of Pekin, IN

1 sister - Faye Morris of Borden, IN

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 12 PM with burial in the Calvert Community Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9:30 AM on Thursday. All times are central.
