Howard Denton "Sonny" Bennett, age 83 of Harned, KY died Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 3, 1937, the son of the late Howard and Pauline Shrewsbury Bennett. Howard enjoyed life which was evident in his hobbies: fishing, hunting, swimming, gardening, playing the guitar, working crossword puzzles and watching Gunsmoke. He attended Harned United Methodist Church, was a member of the Hardinsburg Masonic Lodge # 67 and a veteran of the United States Army. Howard retired from American Synthetic Rubber Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Yandell Bennett and Ruellma Robinson, his brother Mike Bennett and special niece Sonja Leigh Longley.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 65 years Thelma Whitworth Bennett.
His daughter - Allyson Bennett of Harned, KY
2 grandchildren: Cody Conde and Julia Elmer.
His brother - Mark Bennett of Brandenburg, KY
A memorial service will be held at Harned United Methodist Church on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 1 PM with Rev. Michael Deaton officiating. The service will be live streamed on the Harned United Methodist Church website. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 11:30 AM under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home. Masks and social distancing are requested by the family. Thank you for your cooperation.
