Howard Miller Hendrick, age 94 of Kirk, KY died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Heartford House in Owensboro, KY. He was born in Kirk, KY on January 30, 1924, the son of the late William Allen and Flora Mildred Miller Hendrick.
Howard was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed hunting, UK sports, his dogs, cats and horses. He was a published author in the American Cooner. He had a wonderful sense of humor - one year he raised a secret garden and did not tell his wife, but kept getting delicious vegetables from it. She thought they were great. He enjoyed time spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Ray Hendrick and sisters Betsy Pickett and Lu Alexander.
Howard is survived by Alice, his wife of 66 years.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2 PM with Rev. Andrew Rupard officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Ivy Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, 10-26-2018 after 10 AM.
