Herman Wesley Howard, age 88 of Westview, KY passed away October 15, 2021 at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. He was born in Hudson, KY on July 29, 1933, the son of the late Isaac and Ora Hay Howard. Herman was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and American Legion Post in Leitchfield, KY. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the last occupation of Germany after WWII. He was a farmer who enjoyed working with his cattle and riding his Big Red tractor. He enjoyed this season, as it was time to sow winter wheat. He had many interests that include History, especially concerning WWII and antique tractors. Herman was of the generation that would make do with what they had and if they didn't have it, they made it. His love for his family was beyond measure.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Howard, son Ricky Howard, daughter Joyce Howard and brother Charles Howard.
Herman is survived by 3 children: Randy (Lori) Howard of Irvington, KY; Debbie (Harry) Sanders of Clarkson, KY and Rebecca (Chris) Sneed of Madisonville, TN

Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4-8 PM and Wednesday , 8:30 - 10:30 AM.
The rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM Tuesday.
