Harlan D Appleby

Harlan D. Appleby, age 87 of Constantine, KY passed away September 13, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Sumner County, TN on May 16, 1935, son of the late John Will and Bessie Lee Appleby. Harlan was a retired equipment operator and carpenter. He was a "tinkerer and jack of all trades" - if it had screws, wheels or any moving parts, he wanted to know how it worked. Uncle Harlan was loved by his many nieces and nephews - he was their favorite. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. The Waltons was his favorite show. He was one of twelve children who loved his family and became the patriarch after his father passed away.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives Emma Roberts Appleby and Anna Louise Appleby and his siblings Truman, Melvin, Clois, Kenneth, Junior, Billy, Alvatine, Imojean, Allene, Lillian and Rachel.

Harlan is survived by two sons - Dwayne Groves of Constantine, KY and Wesley (Melinda) Appleby of Constantine, KY

Funeral services will be held at Open Valley United Missionary Baptist Church 19 James Duvall Lane Cecilia, KY 42724 on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:30 PM. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday after 3 PM and Saturday after 9 AM. All times are central (slow).
