Earl O’Reilly

Earl O’Reilly, age 78 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital surrounded by the love of his family, whom he cherished dearly. He was born on October 29, 1941 in Hardinsburg, KY, the son of the late Jasper and Anastasia O’Donoghue O’Reilly.

Earl was a hardworking and honest man who cared for his family farm all of his life. He ws a supervisor at Olin Chemical in Brandenburg, where he retired after 32 years of employment. Earl never met a stranger and loved to talk, sightsee and help others, especially by keeping the roads from Bell School House through Whitfill Lane clean and tidy. He took great pride in all that he did, so raising and caring for his family was no different. He was infinitely loved by his tribe.

Earl was a lifetime member of St. Romuald Catholic Church, where he greatly enjoyed worshipping.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Lucille Mattingly, Mary Lillian Roberts, Pauline O’Reilly, Tom, Joe and Charlie O’Reilly.

Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11 AM with Fr. Tony Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, 4-8 PM and Saturday after 8 AM. The rosary will be recited on Friday at 7 PM.
