Delmar Ray Hurst

Delmar Ray Hurst, 65 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away on March 14, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Breckinridge County, KY on February 10, 1958 to Wanda Boling Hurst and the late Thomas Hurst. Delmar was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Frederick Fraize High School. Delmar worked 19 years at American Olean Tile and later worked with his wife operating The Brak Restaurant along with managing Honey Locust Valley Farms. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, collecting antiques and John Deere. Delmar enjoyed sharing stories of his life growing up and he had a deep love in his heart for his grandchildren. 

Delmar was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hurst; brother Danny Gene Hurst and his sister-in-law, Debbie Hurst

Delmar is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Roberts Hurst

Son: Jason (Tessa) Hurst of Hardinsburg, Ky

Daughter: Dana (Josh) Knepper of Evanston, IN

Mother: Wanda Boling Hurst of Cloverport, Ky

Brothers: Donald Kinchelo Hurst of Cloverport, Ky and Gerald (Melinda) Hurst of Hawesville, Ky

Sister: Brenda (Kenny Ray) Probus of Cloverport, Ky

Grandchildren: Bailey, Alexis, Thomas, Caleb and Abby

Great-Grandchild: Paisley May

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home

Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 PM and after 8 AM on Friday

Burial in Pisgah Cemetery
