David Earl Turpin, age 85 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at Breckinridge Memorial Nursing Facility surrounded by his family. He was born in Breckinridge County on October 6, 1935, the son of the late Willie and Marie Hinton Turpin. David was a faithful member of Pisgah Baptist Church. He was the retired manager of Transit Oil where he worked for many years. He had many interests that include watching westerns, working on cars, yard work, camping and boating. His favorite time of the year was the Christmas season, surrounded by his family enjoying the music, lights, decorations and food. David also had a sweet tooth - he loved candy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children Margaret Mattingly Turpin and his siblings Betty, Ed, Robert, Leroy and Lewis.
David is survived by his wife Christine Turpin of Hardinsburg, KY

3 stepchildren: Sean Taylor Greenwood of Cloverport, KY, Tina Michelle (Lewis) Crosley of Broken Arrow, OK and Christie Renee Hoben of Coxs Creek, KY
6 grandchildren: James David Dowell, Brittney (Kari) Koch-Dowell, Tiffany (Jonathan Smith) Turpin, Daphne (Ed) Hancock, Deanna (Brian) Tarter and Autumn (Khaleel) Wilson
11 great grandchildren: Wesley Dowell, Blake Dowell, Bradley Mason, Trace Dowell, Jayden Smith, Caitlyn Dowell, Madi Hancock, Kraig James 'KJ' Koch-Dowell, Kamari Wilson, Adalynn Hancock and Clayton Tater
8 step-grandchildren: Conner Crosley, Tesa Crosley, Sara Crosley, Grace Crosley, Mason Hoben, Caydin Greenwood, Camryn Greenwood and Paisley Greenwood
2 sisters: Reba Brown and Wanda French of Louisville, KY
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 1 PM with Rev. Ray Estes officiating. Burial will be in the Ivy Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM on Tuesday.
