Darlene Mavis (Karsten) Ramstein

Darlene Mavis Ramstein, age 79 of Hardinsburg, KY died June 24, 2021 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born at home in Old Carpentersville, IL on December 31, 1941. She was the 3rd child of the late Opal and Al 'Butch" Karsten. She worked many years at Hoffer Plastic and Knowles. Darlene and her husband Bill raised their 3 children in South Elgin, IL. She semi-retired to Hardinsburg, KY, opening a weld shop in McDaniels, KY with Bill. They retired in 2003.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and best friend Bill, son Robert Ramstein, daughter-in-law Crissie Ramstein and brothers Dale and Donny Karsten.

Darlene is survived by her son Keith Ramstein of Genoa, IL; daughter Penny Fugate and her husband Larry of Louisville, KY and daughter-in-law Robin Ramstein of Brandenburg, KY.

3 grandchildren: Nicole (Chad) Warner, Melinda (Robert) Rios and Jonathan Ramstein

5 great grandchildren: Kayson, Robert, Gabriel, Evelyn and Miranda

sister Diane of California and many nieces, nephews and cousins

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11 AM with burial in the St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 4:30 - 8 PM and Wednesday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
