Charles Douglas Obituary

Charles Douglas was born to the late Percy and Rena Owens Douglas on Monday, September 2, 1935 in McQuady, KY. He departed this life at his residence on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 with his wife and son by his side. He was a graduate of Lincoln Institute and a veteran of the United States Navy. He served many years with Civil Service at Fort Knox, KY until he retired in 1993.

Charles married Beatrice "Bruce" Douglas on Saturday, July 5, 1958 and have been married for 62 years. He was a member of Talbert United Methodist Church and served faithfully for many years as the deacon until his health declined.

He had many hobbies and enjoyed fishing, hunting and mowing. He was very talented and a man who wore a hat of many trades. If there was anything broken, he could fix it whether it was electrical, plumbing or mechanical. He loved sports and was a huge fan of the Louisville Cardinals, Washington Redskins and Los Angeles Lakers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Eugene Douglas and John Henry Douglas.

Charles leaves to mourn his beloved wife Beatrice Douglas, son Charles Douglas, Jr, two daughters Linda Douglas and Cynthia Douglas, his sister Margaret Douglas Cargle (Horace) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 1 PM with Rev. Greg Shannon officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Hardinsburg Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM on Thursday.
