Bernice (Finley) Macy

Bernice Finley Macy, age 91 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away October 9, 2021 at her residence. She was born on May 2, 1930 in Breckinridge County, the daughter of the late Virgil and Alma Robbins Finley.

Bernice was a homemaker who loved to sew, quilt, embroidery and arrange flowers. At one time, she used her expertise at Galante studio and the Sunshine Patch. She was a faithful member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church where she used her talents by working with crafts for VBS, serving on the Flower Committee as well as the Senior Activities Committee and Benevolence Committee. She was also a member of WMU. She took pride in her family, her home and her church. She never failed to share her love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren to those with whom she came in contact. They were her pride and joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband A. O. Macy, Jr., her son A. O. 'Butch' Macy, III and her sister Christine Finley Maddox.

Bernice is survived by 2 sons: Rodney (Sheila) Macy of Hardinsburg, KY and Bruce (Cindy) Macy of Hawesville, KY

daughter-in-law: Ruth Macy of Hobbs, NM

sister-in-law: Ann Macy of Hardinsburg, KY

6 grandchildren: Derek and Marc Macy of Hobbs, NM; Dr. Brian (Gretchen) Macy of Bowling Green, KY; Lauren (Joel) Taul of Falls of Rough, KY; James (Ashlie) Macy of Lewisport, KY and Kayla (Chris) Cabrera of Owensboro, KY

7 great grandchildren: Jay and Emma Macy; Connor Macy; Preston, Lucy, Trevor and Parker Taul

Funeral services will be held at the Hardinsburg Baptist Church on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11 AM with Rev. Todd Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Ivy Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, 4:30 - 8 PM and Friday after 8:30 AM under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.
