Barry Monroe Masterson

Barry Monroe Masterson, age 73 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away June 27, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Louisville, KY on April 23, 1948, the son of the late Paul and Kathleen Greenwell Masterson. Barry was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He was the former owner of Barry's Body Shop in Irvington, KY. Barry had a passion for drag racing, competition, the smell of a burnout and all things related to cars, engines and being at the track. That passion of over 50 years is now watching and teaching his grandson Caeleb make a clean pass down the 1/8 mile. Barry was an avid UK fan and enjoyed mowing, yardwork and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara of 46 years, brothers and sister Mickey, Bud, Todd and Paula.

Barry is survived by 2 sons - Steve (Missy) Masterson and Corey (Nicole) Masterson of Hardinsburg, KY

5 grandchildren: Kari (Phil) Brown, Haley, Caeleb, Alyssa and Carter Masterson

Special friend: Pat Bland of Falls of Rough, KY

Brother - David (Kathy) Masterson of Brandenburg, KY

Aunt - Pat Hartley of Irvington, KY and Uncle Bill Greenwell of Louisville, KY

2 sisters-in-law: Jayne Masterson of Crestwood, KY and Deb Masterson-Pike of Irvington, KY

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 1 PM with Fr. Tony Jones officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the St. Romuald Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, 9:30 am - 1 PM. All times are central.
