Barbara Jean Wheatley

Barbara Jean Wheatley, age 90 of Jacksonville, FL passed away January 5, 2022 at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Breckinridge County on October 15, 1931, the daughter of the late Lafe and Teresa Mattingly Withers. Jean grew up in the St. Mary of the Woods Parish and as an adult became a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She adored children and was a caregiver for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ed Wheatley, siblings William Russell Withers, Mary Miller, Anna Laura "Larry" Greenwell, Margaret Tucek and Vennie Payne.

Jean is survived by her sister Lafie Jolly of McQuady, KY as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
