Virginia Sills Thornsberry

Virginia Sills Thornsberry, age 89 of Hardinsburg, KY died Friday, November 8, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on January 1, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph Clement Sills and Elizabeth Mattingly Sills. Ginna, as she was called by her family and friends, was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was a charter member of the Breckinridge County Community Center where she was ladies club champion many times. Ginna was known for her love of entertaining. She and Beavin hosted many holiday and Derby parties and their guests looked forward to them each year. She enjoyed dining out, traveling, golf, having visitors in her home and was an avid lover of animals.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Beavin Thornsberry, Jr.,  brothers: J. C. Sills and Randolph Sills and nieces: Brenda Kelly and Linda Zralek. Ginna is survived by her niece and nephews: Peggy Perrell and her husband Bill,  Jim Sills and  his wife Sheila,  Joseph Sills and his wife Sissy and their families. Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, 4:30 – 8 PM and Tuesday after 8 AM. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 PM. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Breckinridge County Animal Shelter or St. Romuald Catholic Church.
