Suenette Carman

Suenette Carman, age 85 of Hardinsburg, KY died Saturday, October 26, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Garfield, KY on March 22, 1934, the daughter of the late Curtis Allen and Mary Elizabeth “Jo” Horsley Simmons. Suenette was a member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church.  She worked for a short time at Fort Knox, but left to do what was dear to her heart which was being a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved her home and vegetable gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Louie and J T Simmons, Idell Smiley, Charlotte Shumate and Nell Whitworth.

Suenette is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Douglas H. and Rev. Alisa Carman of Harned, KY

2 granddaughters: A. Ruth Carman Britt and her husband Clayton of Franklin, KY

N. Hope Carman Moore and her husband Brandon of Westview, KY

4 great grandchildren: Annalee Joy and John Walter Britt, Ian Allen and Carman Hope Moore

1 brother: Allen Simmons of Louisville, KY

1 sister: Ruby Simmons Rittman of Louisville, KY

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home 308 South Hardin Street Hardinsburg, KY 40143 on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 12 PM with Rev. Todd Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Hensley Cemetery near Garfield, KY. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Wednesday.
