Rugene Hinton, age 87 of Harned, KY died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Mook, KY on June 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Amon Lee Dooley and Nora Noblett. Rugene was a retired hairdresser and former owner of Nancy and Rugene's Beauty Shop in downtown Hardinsburg. She loved her job and her clients. Women of the community looked forward to their weekly visits, sharing stories about their families and daily lives and left feeling like a million bucks. As time passed, they were not only customers, but became friends. She was a very active member of St. Romuald Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Church Women United, a former parish council member and school board member. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting and travel. She was the mother of three daughters who were her pride and joy. Family time was very important to Rugene and she looked forward to times spent with her girls and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bert Hinton and 2 brothers - Harold and Stoy Dooley.

6 grandchildren: Scott Whitworth (Brendan), Dustin Whitworth, Jordan Fentress, Taylor Fentress, Natalie Taul (Dustin) and Olivia Whitworth
4 great grandchildren: Jacy, Andrew and Allie Whitworth, Harper Taul

Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11 AM.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, 5-8 PM and Wednesday after 8 AM. The rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7 PM.
