Ray Himmelhaver, age 79 of Hardinsburg, KY died Monday, August 12, 2019 at Harrison County Hospital. He was born in Louisville, KY on July 31, 1940, the son of the late Andrew Charles and Mary Margaret Burke Himmelhaver. Ray was the owner of Ray's Body Shop which he operated for over 50 years. He was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He had many interests that include watching old movies, air shows, car shows, Big Band music, square dancing, playing poker and family gatherings. He was one of the most hospitable men you could meet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Tommy Himmelhaver and his brother Thomas Himmelhaver.

11 grandchildren – Carrie Matthews (Andrew), David Himmelhaver (Joanna), Christen Hale (Jason), Matthew Dowell (Laura), Justin Mullins (Mallory), Molly, Benjamin and Wade Dowell, Quinton, Katie and Wyatt Himmelhaver
7 step grandchildren – Devon McCarty, Juli Davis, Virginia, Lawson, Nevaeh, Isabella and Addison Montgomery
8 great grandchildren – Matthias and Everette Matthews, Ronan, Ambrose and Elias Himmelhaver, Cora and Coleman Hale, Markus Himmelhaver
Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 12 PM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday beginning at 9:30 AM.
