John Daniel Rhodes, age 77 of Westview, KY died Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born in Kirk, KY on August 8, 1941, the son of the late John Allen and Elizabeth Mae Ballard Rhodes. Dan was a member and Eucharistic minister at St. Anthony Catholic Church, as well as a member of the picnic committee. He retired after many years as a truck driver. He worked for several companies including First Class, Ken Stiff and Glasscock Transport.
Dan loved his family and was very devoted to them. He enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. He spent many hours doing yardwork and always had the most maincured one along the highway. Dan enjoyed woodworking and over the years made many swings, some of which were donated and auctioned at the St. Anthony Picnic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Anna Muriel Hines and brothers Ballard and Tom Rhodes.

9 grandchildren: Megan Waggoner (Zach), Ethan Smiley (Amberly), Jeremy Rhodes (Katie), John Allen Rhodes (Haley), Nick, Dany and Luke Lynn, Jourdann Rhodes and Alleigh Collins (Justin)
3 great grandchildren: Aria Collins, Ryker Lynn and Quinn Rhodes

Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Axtel, KY on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, 4-8 PM and Tuesday, 8 - 10:30 AM. The rosary will be recited on Monday at 7 PM.
