Hazel Dean Spencer

Hazel Dean Spencer, age 86 of Kingswood, KY died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Whitesville, KY on March 2, 1932, the daughter of the late Arnold and Leona Rummage Rodgers. She was a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Hazel was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, sewing and quilting. She, along with members of the United Methodist Women, made quilts to be auctioned at their annual fundraiser. She loved animals and would care for any that came to her home. She worked at Walmart in Leitchfield, KY for many years. She was the friendly, smiling face with the soft voice that greeted you at the door.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Kenny Spencer, her great grandson Zane Spencer, brother James Arnold Rodgers and sister Veloa Rodgers.

Hazel is survived by her husband of 68 years, Shelby Tom Spencer of Kingswood, KY

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home 308 South Hardin Street  Hardinsburg, KY 40143 on Tuesday, 1-15-2019 at 1 PM. Burial will be in the Kingswood Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9:30 AM on Tuesday.
