Doris Jean O'Reilly

Doris Jean O'Reilly, age 81 of Newburgh, IN and formerly of Cloverport, KY died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Woodland Golden Living. She was born in Mattingly, KY on June 3, 1937, the daughter of the late James Marion and Eula Jane Miller Mattingly. Jean began teaching elementary school at the age of 18 at Hardinsburg Elementary School and later at Cloverport Independent School. She loved teaching, however she decided to leave that profession and  help her husband Charlie with his business as a bookkeeper. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. Jean was a very active member of St. Rose Catholic Church until her move to Evansville, IN.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Charlie who died July 16, 2011.

Jean is survived by 2 daughters - Cheryl Wathen and her husband Ken of Evansville, IN
Donna Teague and her husband Bill of Newburgh, IN
4 granddaughters - Adrienne, Lauren and Kristen Wathen, Emma Teague
1 brother - James D. Mattingly and his wife Barbara of Cloverport, KY

Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Hardinsburg, KY on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, KY on Sunday, 3:30 - 8 PM and Monday after 8 AM. The rosary will be recited at 6 :30 PM on Sunday.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to St. Romuald Catholic Church, St. Rose Catholic Church or Alzheimers Association.
