Doris Alexander Beauchamp

Doris Alexander Beauchamp, age 90 of Hardinsburg, KY passed from her earthly home to her final destination on June 10, 2018. She was born in Harned, KY on March 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Lee and Lester Marr Alexander.

Mrs. Beauchamp attended both Lindsey Wilson and Asbury Colleges, receiving her B. A. degree from Asbury in 1953. She returned to Breckinridge County where she taught in the school system for 34 years. Upon marriage, Mrs. Beauchamp withdrew her membership at Harned United Methodist Church and became a member of Sample United Methodist Church, to attend and work with her husband in the church. As a pianist was needed, she was asked to take over and played for services for approximately 50 years.  She is, perhaps, best remembered for her glorious singing ability, as music has been a lifelong love. She first sang publicly at the age of four in a duet with her twin sister at a beauty contest held at the old McGaryTheatre 
on Main Street in Hardinsburg, KY. She has since rendered her voice to perform for countless weddings, churches, funerals, revivals and many school functions.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Euzada Winn, Murray, Morris, Francis and J L Alexander, MerleneWright and her twin sister Jean Blakeman,.

Mrs. Beauchamp is survived by Paul, her husband of 58 years, their son Paul Lee, her brother Luther Lamar "Sonny" Alexander, many nieces, nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be held at Sample United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11 AM CDT with burial in the Sample Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, KY on Wednesday, 3:30 - 8 PM CDT and Thursday, 8-10:30 AM CDT. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Breckinridge County Handicapped Association.
