David Lee Foley, age 72 of McDaniels, KY died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. He was born in Tompkinsville, KY on September 6, 1944, the son of the late Amos David and Gaynell Gee Foley. He retired from General Electric, was a Vietnam Army veteran who was awarded a Bronze Star, a member of Faith Praise and Worship Center in Zoneton, KY and a park attendant for the Army Corps of Engineers.

David enjoyed watching wrestling, boxing and U of L basketball. He was a jokester and storyteller. He could take you anywhere in and around Tompkinsville, but could get lost in Walmart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gwendolyn Foley on 1-7-2017, son - Joseph David Foley, sisters - Barbara Ford and Norma Jean Netherton, niece - Teresa, nephew - Adam and great nephew - Austin.

David is survived by 3 children: Tammy Hembree (Casey) of McDaniels, KY

Stacey Goben of Leitchfield, KY

Joshua Foley (April) of Shepherdsville, KY

6 grandchildren: Brittney Wright, Rachael Johnston, Chelsie Johnston, Nicolas Johnston, Alyssa Foley and Alexis Foley

5 great grandchildren

2 sisters - Alice Chastain (Pat) of Bloomington, IN

Tammy Wells of Smiths Grove, KY

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 7 PM with cremation to follow. Visitation will begin at 3 PM on Thursday.
