Wooder Johnson, age 79 of Hardinsburg, KY died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on December 21, 1937, the son of the late Robert Johnson and Anna Laura Guthrie. Wooder retired from the United States Navy in 1975 and was a 10 year member of the Fleet Reserve. He was a member and trustee of Talbert Chapel United Methodist Church.

Wooder enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing, working crossword puzzles and watching sports especially the U of L Cardinals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters - Evelyn Guthrie and Kate Roberts and 4 brothers - Ray Johnson, Tom Dean, June Johnson and John R. Johnson.

Wooder is survived by his wife Gladys Johnson of Hardinsburg, KY
1 son - Rodney Johnson of Memphis, TN
1 granddaughter - Rochelle Johnson
1 great granddaughter - Nina
4 sisters - Janet Brooks, Shirley Wales and Charlotte Luney of Louisville, KY, Ora King of Patterson, New Jersey.

Funeral services will be held at Talbert Chapel United Methodist Church on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11 AM with Rev. Greg Shannon officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 9 AM. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, 4-8 PM and Friday after 8:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society or Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
