Sylvia Mae Kiper, age 71 of Hardinsburg, KY died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on November 1, 1945, the daughter of the late Burhman Roscoe "Dick" Hickerson and Della Mae Pekinpaugh. Sylvia was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she served as pianist over 30 years and was a youth leader. She enjoyed traveling, listening Southern Gospel music, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her cat Max.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson Kevin Kiper and her sister Lois Eskridge.

2 sons - Stacey Kiper (Ann) of Hardinsburg, KY and Bradley Kiper of Irvington, KY
7 grandchildren: Byron, Trevor, Jonathan and Elizabeth Kiper, Ashley McClure, James Fuqua and Destiny Nelson
3 great grandchildren: Adain and Avery Kiper, Michael Lane McClure
2 nieces - Melanie Keesee and Lora Bennett

Funeral services will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitaiton will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, 4-8 PM and Saturday after 8:30 AM. Expressions of sympathy are requested to Sylvia Kiper Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
