Roy Butler, Jr. age 74 of Hardinsburg, KY died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Custer, KY on March 29, 1943, the son of the late Roy Butler, Sr. and Hazel Bennett. Roy was an auctioneer and owner of Roy Butler Realty and Auction Company. He was a member of Kentucky Auctioneers Association and Kentucky Real Estate Commission and a very active member of AA. He attended Harned United Methodist Church. Roy never met a stranger and would talk as long as someone would listen. He walked many, many miles and still talked to whomever he met on his way. Real Estate was his passion and he conducted business until his final days.

Roy is survived by 2 daughters - Stephanie Diehl (Scotty) of Custer, KY and Carrie Slocum of Hardinsburg, KY
5 grandchildren: Bella and Ryder Slocum, Tyler Diehl, Jeremy Diehl and Larissa Pirro
5 great grandchildren

Memorial service will be held at Harned United Methodist Church on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 6PM with visitation beginning at 4 PM at the church. Trent-Dowell Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
