Robert Owen Rankin, age 86 of Hardinsburg, KY died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on April 13, 1931, the son of the late Lewis and Flonie Lyon Rankin. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He was a retired carpenter, former Brown and Williamson employee and a farmer. He enjoyed fishing, farming, playing card games and was a wonderful craftsman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings - Albert, Gilbert and Virginia Rankin, Louise Carwile, Mable Stinnett.

many nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 2 PM with Fr. Brian Johnson officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
