I grew up with Jan and the siblings. It seemed fitting that both our fathers families were from Breckenridge County, we had animal last names (Lyons is cooler than Goatley), our fathers were remembered at the VA Hospital in the same memorial ceremony. I was able to get the candle for them and give it to Joe. Jan and I were close friends growing up but went different ways in our early 20's and lost touch. It was so great to see her on facebook and see that she was working in early childhood education. That is so impressive and such a labor of love. For those of us who knew her and called her friend, we were lucky. RIP Sweet angel. I so wish you had more time and I regret not making it over to see you. But I will see you again and can't wait to see the beautiful angel you now are.

OMG. This is really shocking to me. You will truly be missed. I'll never forget the fun conversations we've had at Valley. And I know you loved your dog. That's all you ever talked about. You was truly a great person with a heart of gold and your smile lit up the room... We will never forget you.

Our hearts are heavy as we pray for your family & sister, a gentle soul taken too soon. May God wrap his arms of comfort around you all and give you peace as you say goodbye to Jan, but also lift you up as you celebrate her life and the way she inspired others both young and old.
