James Edwin Dyer, age 88 of Locust Hill, KY died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born in Harned, KY on July 21, 1928, the son of the late Harold and Rue Drane Dyer. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Locust Hill United Methodist Church and Hardinsburg Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. Jimmy enjoyed farming, beekeeping and woodworking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son -Sammy Dyer, brother - Tom Dyer and sisters - Shirley Harpe and Joyce Wheatley.

stepdaughter - Joann Dupin of Leitchfield, KY
5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild
11 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren
2 sisters - Carolyn Miller (Leo) of Louisville, KY and Cleo Allen of Elizabethtown, KY

Funeral services will be held at Locust Hill United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, 3:30 - 8 PM and Thursday, 8:30 - 10:30 AM. Masonic services will be held on Wednesday at 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Locust Hill Cemetery.
