Bobby D. Kennedy, age 82 of Garfield, KY died Friday, February 2, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Garfield, KY on December 28, 1935, the son of the late E.B. and Wilma Whitworth Kennedy. He served as Chief Deputy Sheriff of Breckinridge County from 1970 - 1974 and Sheriff from 1974 - 1978 and 1982 - 2002. He served as Sergeant-at-Arms for the Kentucky Sheriff's Association from 1986-2002. Bobby was a member of Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Custer Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Robbie Jackson, brothers Harold and Jim Kennedy and sister-in-law Sharon Burnett Kennedy.

Funeral services will be held at Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, 3-8 PM and Tuesday after 8 AM. Masonic service will be held on Monday at 7 PM. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to KY Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch or Freedom Cemetery.
