Barbara Louise Curtis O'Connell

Barbara Louise Curtis O'Connell of Hardinsburg, KY formerly of Corbin, KY passed away at the family home on February 16, 2018. She was born in Louisville, KY on July 21, 1950, the daughter of the late Henry B. and Mildred E. Curtis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law Charles Preston "Penny" O'Connell.

Barbara is survived by her husband Maurice Ronald "Ron" O'Connell
one daughter Kelly Renee O'Connell
three grandsons: Alex Matthew Carr, Benjamin Kyle "Ben" Carr and Charles Michael "Charlie" Carr
her mother-in-law Helen Bates O'Connell
numerous family members and friends who will mourn her passing

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM CST on Sunday and after 8 AM CDT on Monday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM with interment in the Brickey Family Cemetery. Fellowship will immediately follow at the O'Connell home.

The family requests and encourages that donations be made to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.

Pallbearers for the service will be Alex Carr, Ben Carr, Richard "Rick" O'Connell, Kenneth "Ken" O'Connell, Danny O'Connell, David Bates, Mark Stephens and Chad Wrinn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Scott Stephens, Patrick O'Connell, Austin Brown, Craig Jasper, Travis Jasper, Joe Butch White, Justin White, Tommy Winchell, Joseph Gedling and Butler Traditional High School Class of 1968.
